Leading electrical company tackles child cancer

Legrand has donated a top selection of electrical solutions to this year's Telethon charity event.

With many children around Australia affected by cancer – and the consequent disruption it can be to their lives, along with their studies – Legrand has helped raise $722,500 for My Room Children's Cancer Charity.

The stunning four-bedroom, two-storey home will be built by one of Australia’s market leaders in new home design and construction, Metricon. Metricon & Satterley united with The Footy Show’s My Room Telethon on Channel 9 to auction an amazing home and land package in Satterley’s Botanical Community in Mickleham, VIC.

My Room approached Metricon earlier this year to explore avenues for how to work together. Being a passionate supporter of charities that benefit the community, The Footy Show’s My Room Telethon was the perfect fit. Metricon’s general manager, Peter Langfelder, is proud to be involved in this year’s My Room Telethon.

“We realised very quickly that there was an exciting opportunity to combine our building expertise with Satterley’s development knowledge to offer a home-and-land package via auction during The Footy Show’s My Room Telethon,” he says.

“It is a charity that impacts the lives of many people, including Metricon customers and employees.”

Legrand is delighted to partner with Metricon for this fantastic initiative by providing electrical solutions for the home.

Langfelder said top quality electrical products are tantamount to a successful build.

“We approached Legrand as a charity partner for the Merricks 37 build based on the strength of the working relationship we have in place with Legrand for builds Australia-wide,” he said.

“It made sense to partner with suppliers we know and trust and we’re grateful for Legrand’s support of the My Home build.”

After Metricon & Satterley's contribution of $750,000, the total amount raised was $1.55m. All proceeds will go to the My Room Children's Cancer Charity.
