PM announces new Education Minister

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has appointed his cabinet, announcing a ‘next generation’ front bench.

Dan Tehan, the Federal Member for Wannon, was appointed Federal Education Minister on Sunday, two days after Morrison won a tightly-contested battle for the leadership of the Liberal Party.

Outgoing Federal Education Minister, Senator Simon Birmingham, will now take on the portfolio of Trade, Tourism and Investment.

Tehan was previously Minister for Social Services.
