Dr Charlotte Forwood, Leader of advanced learning, Strathcona Baptist Girls’ Grammar School

Dr Charlotte Forwood is an educator committed to modelling best practice through evidence-based teaching and learning approaches. Her capacity to introduce cutting-edge innovations has seen her make a significant contribution to the school and wider community.

Forwood provides professional development to the education community through seminars, conferences and through her role in the development of Independent Schools Victoria’s middle years language consultancy program. She’s also the author of over 20 published teaching sources supporting teaching and learning in English, humanities and STEM. Forwood has also led an interdisciplinary team of teachers to implement Strathcona’s Year 7 and 8 SEED program, using guided inquiry and design thinking frameworks to underpin authentic, real-world investigations.

Forwood is constantly looking to extend learning opportunities through partnerships and collaborations with schools, organisations and universities. She has been invited to curate global Twitter chats, and has shared her experiences and supported peers in using Twitter as a professional learning network.
