St Stephen's School, Carramar and Duncraig - cross-campus, WA

St Stephen’s School’s new Home Away From Home (HAFH) program offers a fresh take on the conventional school boarding arrangements, placing students from regional WA in a local family environment.

Under the new regional initiative, a stringent process matches students with families in a home environment to ensure they feel supported, comfortable, and in the best space to reach their potential. Regular check-ins are also conducted for all parties.

The HAFH program provides students access to all school activities and opportunities as well as guidance through their secondary schooling by the St Stephen’s school care team, career advisors, and academic and vocational specialists. Students can also participate in a short-term trial, which may be two or four weeks, to explore all aspects of the program and see if the arrangement will work for them and their families.

This arrangement fosters a strong relationship between the student, their family in regional WA, the host family, and the school where all become an integral part of the school community.
