The Educator Leaders Summit endorsed by NESA

The Educator Leaders Summit has been endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for six hours of professional development at the Proficient Teacher level.

Both streams of the event (leadership and education law) have received the NESA accreditation.

The leadership stream, which covers topics such as preparing students with 21st century skills, strategic and financial planning and building teacher capability, has been accredited for six hours of NESA registered professional development.

Teachers attending the leadership stream can now claim six hours for the standard descriptors 2.6.2, 6.2.2, 6.3.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Accreditation in NSW.

"The event will equip teachers will valuable, practical skills and information about running a school" said event organiser Emma Marrett.

"We're very pleased that attendees will be able to claim points for their attendance," Marrett said.

The legal stream, which will deal with issues such as social media misconduct, family law conflict, disciplining and terminating teachers and managing discrimination, has been accredited for six hours of NESA registered professional development. Delegates will be able to claim points for standard descriptor 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Accreditation in NSW.
