Student at Sydney school tests positive for COVID-19

A student at Waverley College in Sydney has tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the school to ask parents to collect their children.

The private school, located in Sydney’s east, is the third Sydney school to close in less than two weeks, after a Year 7 student at St Ignatius' College Riverview and a staff member at Werrington Public School contracted the virus.

The news, reported by ABC this morning, comes as NSW students begin returning to classrooms today as COVID-19 restrictions ease. Students at Waverley College in Sydney returned to on-site learning last week.

More to come.
